The Bitexco Financial Tower, located in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City’s business and entertainment district, is the most exciting commercial property development undertaken in Vietnam to date. World renowned American architect Carlos Zapata, the creative mastermind behind Bitexco Financial Tower, drew inspiration for this skyscraper’s unique shape from Vietnam’s national flower, the Lotus. To the Vietnamese, the lotus is a symbol of purity, commitment and optimism.
Built at a time of unprecedented growth for the Vietnamese economy, the Bitexco Financial Tower is designed to represent the energy and aspirations of the country’s people and is an iconic embodiment of the new and dynamic Vietnam.
The Bitexco Financial Tower is a true example of forward thinking and design. Re-defining the future of commercial space in Vietnam, this 262-metre tower also has a six-storey retail podium. The property has more than 37,000 square meters of office space and over 8,000 square meters of retail space. On level 50, 464 square meters are available for a casual dining restaurant, while on level 51 there is 568 square meters designated for a fine dining restaurant. On level 52 an Executive VIP & Bar Lounge is planned where tenants and their guests can wind down after a day’s work. A helipad, Vietnam’s first, is located on Level 52 and an Observation Deck on Level 49 offers sweeping 360‐degree panoramic views of the entire city and the nearby Saigon River.
To develop this project to the highest international standards, Bitexco Group assembled the very best international development team with a proven track record and experience in constructing some of the world’s tallest buildings.
The tower was officially inaugurated on October 31, 2010.
Grand Atrium Lobby On entering the building, tenants, shoppers and visitors to the public observation deck on level 49 will be astounded by the flood of natural sunlight streaming into the lobby from the glass atrium that connects the office tower and the retail podium.
Unparalleled Views The Bitexco Financial Tower offers 360-degree views of the entire city and the Saigon River. In addition to the Tower’s unique floor shape, it gives tenants a modern office environment which not only allows for stunning views of Ho Chi Minh City but also enables natural sunlight to reach all the floors.
Heli-pad Located on the southern side of the Bitexco Financial Tower, the heli-pad cantilevers from the lofty 52nd floor and resembles a blossoming lotus bud.Constructed from more than 250 tons of structural steel and requiring 4,000 ultra-strong bolts to hold it together, the heli-pad took almost a year to plan, build and coordinate before it could be hoisted to its place on the 52th floor. Its installation alone took about two months.
Vertical Transportation: The Bitexco Financial Tower operates Otis double-decker lifts with specialised Compass System which is the most modern and advanced elevator system in Vietnam. There will be 3 separate elevator zones servicing the tower with 14 passenger and 2 service lifts:
Vietnam’s first heli-pad is on the 52nd floor of Bitexco Financial Tower
The heli-pad extends 22 meters out from the main structure. It is strong enough to carry a helicopter under 3 tons of weight
Contractor Hyundai brought in 15 specialised workers from South Korea to help assemble the heli-pad
The building’s curvature means no two floors are alike
Each of the 6,000 sleek glass panels enveloping Bitexco Financial Tower is individually cut to unique specifications because each floor is different from the next.
They were purchased in Belgium, manufactured in China and shipped to Vietnam for assembly, making it an international effort
These low emissive glass panels on the building facade help reduce UV ray penetration
The observation deck on Level 49 offers 360 degree views of the entire city and the Saigon River
High-tech double decker lifts can reach speeds of 7 meters per second, making them the third fastest in the world.
For the foundation, bored piles were drilled to a depth of 235 to 265 feet underground.
